Life events - rites of passage

The church has traditionally provided services marking the important rites of passage, and nowadays there are three main ways in which the local community uses these:

Baptism

This marks the admission of a person to the Christian community, and may take place at any age. There is always preparation and teaching about the basic Christian commitment at the heart of baptism.

Marriage

Marriage ceremonies are offered to anyone who lives in, or has a clear connection to, the parish.

Funerals

Funeral services can be arranged for any deceased Ketton resident.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a distinctively Christian life event marking the acceptance by a baptised person that they hold the Christian faith. In the case of adults, it can be combined with baptism on a single occasion.
